Carl Johnson,

Anchorage, Alaska.

I moved to Alaska in 1999, having lived in six states and one U.S. territory before that as a military dependent and serving in the Navy. I received my first formal photography training in the Navy, emphasizing a photojournalistic style. My love for nature photography grew from guiding in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota. My time in Alaska has instilled a deep love for the landscapes, wildlife and people of the Arctic. Photographing and sharing the wild places of the Arctic gives me great pleasure.
