Bobo
While many of Jon Van Zyle’s depictions of the dog mushing lifestyle include numerous sled dogs as part of a team, some paintings feature individual dogs that have stood out over decades of dog mushing. This painting depicts Alli Kane, or “Bo” or “Bobo.” Bobo was one of Jon’s favorite dogs of all time. Bobo was an instinctive wheel dog who competed with Jon in the Iditarod in 1976. Bobo also loved to go fishing.
