Denali National Park hosts more than 650 species of flowering plants. Blooming peaks in late June and early July. These plants are miracles of evolution as they must be adapted to surviving the long, cold winters, short summers, shallow soils, intense solar radiation, and drying winds found in their subarctic environment. Many species in the park are also found in northeast Asia but not in other parts of North America, evidence of earlier times when the Bering Land Bridge was open and glaciers cut off Alaska from points south.
Printed in Alaska on paper that meets the Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI) guidelines.
