Alaska State Flower

Double-matted card with custom accent cutout

Photograph by Wildnorth

The alpine forget-me-not was named the official Alaska state flower on April 28, 1917  (dating back to territorial days).  This tiny but colorful blue-and-yellow flower blooms June and July.  There are some color variations with white and pink varieties found.  The tiny flower has 5 petals and is only 1/4-inch to 3/8-inch across. In 1927, Benny Benson paid tribute to the forget-me-not with his winning design for the state flag. The blue field in the flag represents both the sky and the forget-me-not flower.

Printed in Alaska on paper that meets the Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI) guidelines.
