Fairbanks
I have had a passion for nature and photography since I was a kid. I got my first camera when I was 14 years old and began snapping pictures. In 1988, I enlisted in the Army and would take my camera with me wherever I could (including while I was jumping out of airplanes). In 1992, I went to college in Pittsburgh, took some photography credits and learned to develop my own film. However, at that time in my life, being a photographer wasn’t going to pay the bills. So, I finished college and went back into the Army as a nurse. The Army allowed me to live in different places all over the country and I always visited nearby National Parks wherever I was stationed. Finally, in 2009, I hit the jackpot and was stationed at Fort Wainwright! In 2014, I retired from the Army and made Fairbanks my home.
Any chance I get, I am out and about trying to get the best shots. I have a passion for all things nature and can sit for hours waiting for the sunset over the mountains or hoping that a moose will come out of the brush so I can capture that perfect shot. I hope you enjoy my pictures as much as I enjoy taking them!
