About Shannon Cartwright
Shannon Cartwright is perhaps Alaska’s most prolific children’s books illustrator, having illustrated over 30 books, 8 of which she also wrote, for a total of 1.5 million books in print. She has spent most of her time in Alaska since 1972 living off the road system. From working a set net in Bristol Bay, to leading horsepack trips in the mountains of the Alaska Range to the Brooks Range, to personally exploring the wilderness, she knows Alaska and her illustrations and writings reflect that.
