Description

Denali Reflection

Denali National Park

Denali (formerly known as Mt. McKinley) is the highest peak in North America (elevation 20,310 feet).  Here at Reflection Pond, it is seen about 30 miles away, towering more than 18,000 feet above the surrounding landscape.  This abrupt vertical rise is greater than that of Mount Everest, making this one of the most impressive mountain views anywhere in the world.  The summit is covered by clouds 60 to 75 percent of the time in summer.  The peak was named after a U.S. president by early explorers, but it has been known locally as Denali, or “the High One,” by Native Alaskans for generations.

Printed in Alaska on matte paper that meets the Sustainable Forest Initiative guidelines that promote responsible management of the world’s forest.
