I have loved wildlife since I was a child. The moment that led me to pursue photography was when I discovered The Wolves of Denali in my university library in Japan. In 2008, after working hard to overcome the challenge of English, I entered the University of Alaska as a student. At first, I planned to return to Japan after five years, but like many others, I found myself unable to leave, and I have been photographing Alaska’s remarkable wildlife for sixteen years. I have not yet succeeded in creating a body of work on wolves. Photographing them is extremely difficult, but I continue to make the attempt on Prince of Wales Island, Alaska.
