Joe Connolly is the owner and lead photographer of Chugach Peaks Photography, one of Alaska’s leading remote, destination wedding photography businesses. He has captured the wedding memories of more than 1000 couples over the years. He has photographed weddings all over the United States, Canada and Europe. Originally from Michigan, Joe moved to Anchorage to pursue his passion for the outdoors and photography. If you don’t see him behind the camera, you might find him on his mountain bike, backcountry skiing, flying, climbing a mountain, or hiking along one of the area’s trails. Joe recently completed a 12,000+ mile bicycle journey around the perimeter of the United States and obtained his commercial pilot license in both airplanes and helicopters. He has an energy around him that is relaxing and fun, and an intoxicating passion for photography and the outdoors. He learned his craft through some of the best wedding photographers in Michigan and combined the best of what he saw from them with creativity of his own to fashion a very unique style. He lives in the Hillside area of Anchorage, often photographing the aurora borealis from his house.
