Totem Expression
Sitka, Alaska
Totem poles are important to the Tlingit people because they serve as historical records, visual storytelling tools, and social status markers, embodying their clan history, lineage, and important events. This is one of several totem poles at Sitka National Historic Park. The park preserves and interprets the site of a Tlingit Indian Fort and the battle fought between the Russians and the Tlingits in 1804.
Printed in Alaska on matte paper that meets the Sustainable Forest Initiative guidelines that promote responsible management of the world’s forest.
