Description

Tongass Aurora

Juneau, Alaska

The aurora borealis soars and fills the sky over the Tongass National Forest in a coastal area near Juneau. Aurora is visible in Southeast Alaska, but is less common than in more northern areas. It is more likely to be seen during periods of high solar activity and in areas where there is minimal light pollution. The best times to see the aurora are in the months of August through April when night skies are darkest.

Printed in Alaska on matte paper that meets the Sustainable Forest Initiative guidelines that promote responsible management of the world’s forest.
